Live and Let Die

Pacing is a little wonky, and some dubious stereotyping, but Moore's Bond is far less douchey and the overall plot feels much more together.

Assassins Creed: Odyssey

A beautiful and highly entertaining ride through ancient Greece, let down slightly by a janky start and some lacklustre writing in parts, but still hugely enjoyable and fun.

Death on the Nile

An excellent adaptation from a star-studded cast, with a rather fun midway twist, but let down a little by the ending.

Encanto

Overly saccharine at times (even for Disney), but beautifully animated, excellently paced, packs one hell of an emotional gut punch, and contains some brilliant songs.

The Eyes of Tammy Faye

A tricksy plot with an unclear aim woven around an utterly incredible central performance.

Analog And D-Pad

An extremely fun mash-up of gamer culture and superhero tropes that breathes new life into these beloved characters and begins building a world that I'm definitely intrigued by.

Sex Education

A clever, modern equivalent toΒ Skins for the current generation, albeit one with a very American view of British schooling πŸ˜‚

Guns Akimbo

Hugely fun, utterly ridiculous, and Radcliffe is excellent. About as good as the concept could be, but a little too many styles in play at once.

Dune

Visually, thematically, and narratively distinctive science fiction with nearly flawless execution from everyone involved.

Cruella

Outshines the source material in almost every way, with excellent casting and performances, yet is somehow too weighed down by the original to truly reach its potential.
