Such a fun movie, and has held up brilliantly. Definitely not our first viewing, though I had forgotten more than enough to make the experience feel fresh. Even if that weren't the case, I imagine the story, characters, action etc. would still make for a highly enjoyable experience. Honestly, not much I feel the film does wrong. We did have an interesting conversation afterwards about whether it could work as a live-action setup and came to the conclusion that animation just allows for more stereotyped, 2D characters that wouldn't feel as acceptable if they were played by real people, but I still don't see that as a critiscism. It's more just a nod that this particular Marvel property suits animation perfectly: everything from Mochi the cat, to the slightly goofy robot fights, to the wonderfully funny way that Baymax interacts with the world, none of it would work as well without the particular animation style that the film uses. Top marks all around!
